Devon & Laura’s Timeless Backyard Wedding

There’s something incredibly special about a backyard wedding. It feels intimate, personal, and completely centered around what the day is truly about, celebrating your marriage surrounded by the people you love most. Devon and Laura’s beautiful August wedding was exactly that.

August gave us the most beautiful summer day, filled with sunshine, warmth, family, friends, and so much love. From the beginning of the day through the final celebrations, everything felt relaxed, joyful, and intentional.

One of my favorite things about photographing backyard weddings is how personal they feel. Instead of stepping into a traditional wedding venue, you’re celebrating somewhere that already holds meaning. Family and friends are gathered close, everyone feels at home, and there’s an intimacy to the day that is hard to recreate anywhere else.

Devon and Laura’s wedding was such a beautiful reminder that you don’t need an elaborate venue to create a wedding day that feels elegant and timeless.

Laura looked absolutely stunning. Her wedding dress was the perfect combination of classic and modern. The overall style felt timeless and elegant, while the subtle modern touches made it feel completely her. It was the kind of bridal look that I know will still feel beautiful when they’re looking through their wedding photos decades from now.

And that is always something I love.

Trends can be fun, but there is something so special about creating wedding photographs that won’t feel dated five, ten, or even thirty years from now. My goal as a wedding photographer is always to capture the day as it truly felt... the beautiful details, the portraits you’ll frame, and all of those little in-between moments you didn’t even realize were happening.

I want you to remember what it felt like when you saw each other. The way your parents looked at you. Your friends laughing beside you. The hugs from people you love. The details you spent months choosing. And all of the moments happening around you while the day seemed to fly by.

Those are the photographs that become more valuable with time.
