Nic & Ashley | Hawthorne 19 Wedding in Lima, Ohio
There are some wedding days that just feel good from beginning to end, and Nic and Ashley’s Hawthorne 19 wedding in Lima, Ohio was absolutely one of them.
This was my first time photographing a wedding at Hawthorne 19 in Lima, Ohio, and I definitely hope it won’t be my last! From the beautiful grounds and gorgeous outdoor ceremony space to the incredible staff, Hawthorn 19 is such a beautiful Northwest Ohio wedding venue for couples dreaming of an outdoor ceremony and a celebration surrounded by the people they love most.
But as beautiful as the setting was, Nic and Ashley were easily the best part.
These two are genuinely some of the sweetest people you could ever meet. Ashley has the biggest, brightest smile that perfectly matches her fun, outgoing personality. And Nic, with his sweet, quiet demeanor, is the perfect balance to her. Together, they just fit, and watching the two of them throughout their wedding day made that so easy to see.
Nic and Ashley said “I do” surrounded by their closest family and friends. They shared personal vows, making an already meaningful moment feel even more intimate and true to who they are as a couple.
These are always some of my favorite moments to photograph on a wedding day — the ones where, for just a few minutes, everything else seems to disappear and it’s simply two people promising forever to one another.
And throughout the entire day, their love showed up in the smallest ways.
The little glances across the room. The smiles when they caught each other’s eye. The way they naturally found one another in the middle of all the excitement.
You could see not only how much they love each other, but how genuinely excited they were to finally be husband and wife.
A huge thank you also has to go to Nic and Ashley’s bridal party and families. Not only were they incredibly helpful throughout the day, but it was so much fun watching the genuine friendships and relationships surrounding these two.
As a wedding photographer, I get a front row seat to so many moments that happen outside of the big, planned events ... friends checking in on the bride and groom, family members lending a hand, bridal party members making each other laugh, and the people closest to the couple simply showing up for them.
Those candid, unscripted moments are such an important part of telling the full story of a wedding day. Nic and Ashley are clearly so loved, and that was evident from beginning to end.
And once the formalities were over, this group was ready to celebrate!
Their reception brought an enthusiastic dance floor, plenty of laughter, and the kind of energy you hope for at the end of a wedding day. It was the perfect ending to an already incredible celebration.
But even with a packed dance floor and everyone celebrating around them, I kept noticing Nic and Ashley looking at one another. Those little glances said everything. They showed their love, their friendship, and maybe most of all, their excitement that after all the planning and anticipation, they were finally married.
Nic and Ashley, thank you for trusting me to capture this chapter of your story. It was such an honor getting to spend the day with you, your families, and your friends.
