3 Tips to Make the Most of Your Summer Senior Session ☀️📸

Summer senior sessions are some of my absolute favorites—long golden evenings, wildflowers in full bloom, and all the freedom that comes with being out of school. If you're heading into your senior year and planning your photos, I’ve got a few quick tips to help you feel confident, relaxed, and ready to shine in front of the camera.

Whether you’ve already booked your session or you're just starting to look into it, these are my top 3 tips to make your summer senior photos unforgettable:

1. Dress for the Season (and for YOU!)

Summer is the perfect time to wear something light, bright, and so you. Flowy dresses, cute rompers, or even a classic jeans + a fun top combo always look amazing in outdoor summer locations. Think movement, color, and texture—things that pop in photos but still feel natural and true to your personality. If you love neutrals or bold prints, bring both! Outfit changes are always welcome.

2. Timing is Everything

To avoid the summer heat (and sweat!), we’ll aim for either early morning or golden hour—the dreamy light just before sunset. Not only does this give us the best lighting, but it’s also when everything looks magical. Plus, we usually have the location mostly to ourselves. Less heat, less crowd, and more glowy goodness.

3. Come Prepared (and Ready to Have Fun!)

Bring a few little extras with you—water, lip gloss or powder for touch-ups. We’ll laugh, explore, and create images that feel like you. The more relaxed and fun you have during the session, the more that joy shows in your photos.
