Brady & Brynn’s Surprise Proposal

Some love stories deserve more than just a moment on social media... they deserve to be remembered, revisited, and told in full. Brady & Brynn’s surprise proposal was one of those moments, and I’m so excited to officially welcome it to the blog.

Back in December, Brady reached out to me with an exciting plan. He was getting ready to propose to Kambyrnn and wanted help bringing his vision to life. As a storytelling wedding photographer, moments like this are truly my favorite. Of course, I immediately said YES.

We came up with the perfect cover: I would ask them to “model” for me during some winter photography downtime. Just a casual couples session… or so she thought. Little did Kambrynn know, this session would turn into one of the most meaningful days of her life.

Fast forward to proposal day, and Ohio winter weather made a dramatic appearance. With 30 mph winds and a feels-like temperature of around 5 degrees, it quickly became clear that a full outdoor downtown session wasn’t ideal. So we pivoted — and honestly, it turned out better than we could have imagined. We headed to the Toledo Museum of Art, and it became the most timeless, elegant backdrop for their moment. The clean lines, classic architecture, and soft winter light created the perfect setting for a moment that Brady and Kambrynn will remember forever.

The look on her face when she realized what was happening ... absolutely priceless. Raw emotion. Genuine surprise. Pure joy. This is why I love wedding photography and engagement sessions so deeply. These are the moments that tell a story far beyond the images themselves.

Being trusted to capture such an intimate, once-in-a-lifetime moment is something I never take lightly. From the planning to the pivot to the final “YES,” this proposal was full of heart.

I’m so incredibly honored to be part of Brady & Kambrynn's engagement story and to capture memories they’ll look back on for decades to come. Their proposal is a perfect example of why storytelling matters in wedding photography. It's not just about how it looked, but how it felt.
